Punta Ala Golf Course was founded in the spring of 1964. Overlooking the sea, this splendid 18 holes course is surrounded by an impressive array of trees outlining the many natural slopes: a dense vegetation of evergreens, such as imposing and influential pine, maritime pine, oak and holm-oak trees that are important as they often come into play. The wind is also an important factor that influences golfing tactics. From every hole the panorama opens out to the sea below offering extraordinary views. In the Club-house there is a good restaurant with traditional Italian cooking and typical dishes of the local Maremma cuisine. Thanks to the sea and a very mild climate, at Punta Ala Golf Course it is possible to play all year around and the Club organizes a lot of competitions, especially during summer period. Punta Ala is not only famous for golfing but also for polo and sailing and it is a site of important International events.
