The outline of the course measures around 6000 meters (around 6405 yards) and follows the natural contours of the land, creating an exciting and challenging course, quite undulating, with natural obstacles and hazards which are sure to put any golfer's skills to the test for at least five of the eighteen holes. The first nine holes are characterized by olive trees which follow the tricky doglegs of the fairways and the edges of the course while the second half of the course also offers striking images of the Mediterranean landscape, not to mention the colors and perfumes coming from the abundant amount of heather, broom and laurel. There are two lakes on the course, making the course even more demanding.
9.30: Non-Golfers: Visit the city centre of Montecatini Terme with Macana G&L tour leader. Have a nice walk through Viale Verdi, the main street through town leads from Piazza Popolo to the spas and is bordered on one side by the park. Viale Verde is lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants. On this street are two theaters, the tourist office, and the historic Gran Cafe Gambrinus, still a lively meeting place. Take the funicular to go to Montecatini Alto, this historical railway, more than 100 years old, runs from Montecatini Terme up the hill to the picturesque hill town of Montecatini Alto where there's a small castle, three churches, a large square with restaurants and outdoor cafes, a few tourist shops, and great views over the countryside.

The stunning landscape is typical Tuscan countryside full of green undulating hills with large plots of land covered with vineyards interspersed with orchards of olive trees and bordered by rows of cypresses. Every so often, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the typical round bales of hay of the region and, in the summertime, admire the sunflowers that flood the countryside with their bright yellow colors.

Once we arrive at Castellina, you’ll have the opportunity to take a stroll in the medieval down the covered soldiers’ walk in the 15th century defensive walls of the city and stop at the small square where you can taste some homemade gelato or purchase a souvenir or two. We than proceed to an ancient castle today a very good winery. You will be fascinated by the stories of the families that lived there and their wines. Light lunch with wine tasting at the castle. After lunch we will proceed to Radda in Chianti, where the noble families, used to have once upon a time their Palazzos.
